A good thing about my day job

September 18, 2023

I can't complain about the views from the work office window

Shaking off a dream...

Saturday, September 09, 2023

Had to go for a walk in the misty woods this morning to shake off a dream...

Wind Turbine Roundup

I don't know why people hate wind turbines. These majestic constructions are stunning, and I have always enjoyed visiting them.

Last nights sunset visit to the local wind farm was a success but the photos do not show just how chilly it was out there. As for today's tasks, the sunniest week of the year so far will no doubt draw me into the garden again, where I hope to get a good chunk of reading done. This evening's task/is to continue to trawl through my terribly messy files for suitable images for RoW. Anyway, time to crack on...

More woodland magic

More woodland magic from Gelli-Hir Woods, Gower:

Sulphur-Tufts

Two more photographs from my recent walk through Gelli-Hir Woods, Three Crosses, Gower. When the weather is pretty dire, mushrooms always makes a woodland photogenic. In this particular instance, it's Sulphur-Tuft that add a definite magical vibe to the woodland:

Spots

I stumbled upon this interesting character whilst visiting some local woods recently. Lovely isn't s/he!

Whilst you can see all the photographs I took on the walk on my Explore Gower blog, I'll probably post more of my favourite images from Gelli-Hir Woods here over the next few days too. I hope you like them :)

A Field in Suffolk

This is probably the most picturesque field I have ever had the village to walk past:

Apple

My homage to Paul Caponigro's excellent Galaxy Apple photograph.

'Twas a tasty fruit too :)

May Day 100 Day Project

 May 1, 2021

Well, day 1 of my #100dayschallenge went smoothly and productively. I have titled the project Avalon - the Glastonbury zine. I've worked out what articles and features will appear in the zine, and have decided if I can find any other writers or artists who would like to contribute to the zine. I have also registered a domain name avalonzine.co.uk to document the  progress of the zine, to advertise its presence in the market, to hopefully attract contributors and, ultimately, to get some advertisers on board. It's  not online just yet but here is an early preview of its first page:

I think I will call it a day now and get on with stuff. See ya.

🥺

April 09, 2022

I never thought I would see this again. Indeed, until I saw all my bandages and cotton gloves hanging out to dry on our garden washing line, I had forgotten that this was a normal sight during my childhood eczema days. After 50 odd years of topical and oral steroid use battling this condition, it's the turn of TSW to decimate my well being. And I am still a long way down the queue to see a specialist 🤕

Shed Doors

I love the colour of my shed door, so much so that I got round the thinking, if one door look so good, imagine having two doors on the garden building...

Enchanting, eh?

Swansea City Sunsets Zine Update

 March 01, 2022

I have just 29 days left until the latest edition of my fotography zine Sweyne's Eye goes to press. All the photographic content is now in place and just needs fine-tuning in situ on the page. Gotta say, I am a little bit happy with this special edition zine :

To continue whetting your appetite, here are x3 more images from the forthcoming zine, featuring Swansea's picturesque Cockett Church:
