Some more Christmas Gardening

Thursday, December 28, 2033

Sorted out a few more plants this morning.

A Boxing Day Project

My Boxing Day green-fingered project. Re-uniting a mother with her offspring. These were grown from a single leaf cutting I took from a plant I took when my daughter was a newborn.

Worse for Wear

 Tuesday, December 19, 2023

I had to come home early from work today as I was feeling unwell. But the postie had slipped these through my letterbox, warming  my spirits nicely:

These bring my Guy N Smith collection to a satisfactory conclusion (unless someone offers me something really special I won't be able to say no too lol). Oh, I almost forgot, a couple of the books were unexpectedly signed too :)

GNS - Doomflight

 Friday, December 08, 2023

My Guy N Smith Lego project is progressing nicely, with photographs for The Dark One, Nightspawn, The Sucking Pit, Caracal, Werewolf by Moonlight, The Slime Beast, Alligators, The Camp & The Cadaver already in the bag. Still lots to go...  but I am keeping the final pics of the Lego cover reconstruction (not my re-imaginings) for my forthcoming book exploring Guy's imagination. So if you want to see them, look out for the fanzine's publication sometime in the first half of next tear.

Now it's time for Doomflight. I will be recreating both the actual cover for this book, which is probably my favourite of Guy's book covers, as well as making my own cover version, which will feature the mysterious druids. As usual, watch this space...

Guy N Smith - Ready for the 1st Photoshoots

Saturday, December 02, 2023

Finally ready to roll on the Lego version of the GNS The Slime Beast cover, I got cracking on it early.

I just need to find the font used on the original 70's book
now, and make a Lego version of the NEL logo. But
that's for another day...

With one photoshoot done and God knows how many more to go, I cracked on with a couple more shoots later in the day. Although I usually love the cover art of Guy N Smith's books, I'm not the greatest fan of the cover photography of my favourite two novels of his - Nightspawn and The Dark One. To be fair, they also aren't the easiest to reproduce in Lego form either. And so I've recreated two of the grimmer graveyard scenes in the books to make my own cover versions of horror novels.

Grim Lego

Wednesday, 22 November, 2023

Seems more grim making a horror Lego set than actually writing horror novels. Anyway, here is the start of my first Guy N Smith lego diorama. It's gonna be a graveyard set, sharing scenes from the author's books Nightspawn and The Dark One. There is also a nod to Bats out of Hell. I will probably change the Sylvia Kline gravedigger minifigure for a better one. I'm waiting on some Lego base plates and graves before I can continue with this model... #GuyNSmith #Lego

Lego

Monday, 20 November, 2023

Well, this took my longer than I thought it would. Spent my entire evening playing Lego lol.

Guy N Smith - Caracal

 Sunday, 19 November 2023

Starting my 20th and last GNS book of 2023. It's been a long and entertaining journey. Thanks to the lovely people on the Guy N Smith Appreciation FB Group, including Guy's wonderful family, for making the reads a hell of a lot richer, and helping me get hold of some of his very rare books. Chuffed I kept to my New Year's resolution to devote my reading year to Guy ☺️

Liver News

 Friday, 17 November 2023

My liver scan at the hospital gave me good news so I can continue on my low dose chemotherapy to help my condition. The walk to hospital yielded some nice view too. Even the waiting room in the hospital was cool.
