I'm starting work on the cover of Tidal Gower. Though I like the cover pic of my home village, Penclawdd, the typography is definitely a work in progress...

The Green Room

Sorting out the attic after the fire. This is going to be Mrs E's chillzone and indoor garden now we have a pull-down ladder leading up there. But there's room for my dartboard and Guy N Smith trunk (which really is full to the brim)!

Olympics, Gladioli & Crabs

Was stuck in bed until late morning as fudjcat decided she wanted to sit on my lap and watch the Olympics on my phone. She has really got into watching TV this year.

 

When I finally made it out of bed, I messaged Mrs E to show her how her gladioli buds had opened. In the message I foolishly remarked how I had positioned myself like a pro to avoid my reflection in the mirror.

Her wordless reply was just this close up of one section of my photo lol:

Spent the rest of the day removing boxed we had stored from the fire whilst the house was being restored out of the shed and back into the house.

Fudge was happy to be outside with us as she had made it her mission to remind the neighbourhood cats, who had made our garden their home while we were away, that she has returned and that the place was HER territory!

I have been on tenterhooks all week following the listing of a particular edition of one of Guy N Smith's books I never thought I would even get the chance to own. Although it finally went for a princely sum, I had been willing to up my bid if necessary, and to my relief, this little treasure should soon be making its way through the postal system to my letterbox! :)

Ghost Story Books

I've started protecting and archiving my books that survived the house fire. The many I had to throw were due to either smoke or water damage.Today, I started with bagging and boxing some of my ghost story books. More will follow...

Changes, they say, come in 3's

It really has been a month of change. First we have had a welcome change of government. Then, a change of house as we finally got to move back home after the fire that took place there back in March. And now I have a change in work as I managed to snag this gem of a position:

My day job really has been getting me down lately as repetition really grinds my brain cogs. The thought of sitting down at my office desk and repeating the same mundane tasks every ten minutes makes me want to scream, and I've been using up a lot of annual leave lately just because I wasn't able to face going to work. Regular readers of this blog will know that I have been spending a lot of time recently working on job applications and not that effort has paid off. Now I have a new and challenging role to play in the office as a Communications Officer for the PCS Union I and welcome this fresh experience with open arms 😀

Proof-reading

Spending time spotting the errors in the proofs of my Guy N Smith book that arrived yesterday morning. As well as fixing them, I will change the answers to the x2 quizzes to a feinter print so they don't stand out too much and spoil the fun. The publication date is just a couple of weeks away now 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀.

Tomorrow marks Day 1 of my next 100-day project - my fourth Explore Gower guidebook, Tidal Gower. During this time, I will also revamp some of my other Gower guidebooks.
