Stehen King - Salem's Lot (Lego Version)

Sunday, 21 January, 2024

My lego version of the scariest scene ever filmed - the floating vampire boy in his pyjamas scratching at the bedroom window in Salem's Lot. Scroll down through the photos to see how I achieved the effect of floating and how I managed to leave enough light through the side of the piece to give the boy an ethereal glow.

Also, to add to the effect, click play on the media below:

Bjork ~ The Juniper Tree

Wednesday, 17 January 2024

It's time to start organising my personal film, TV and book library on my favourite genre, folk horror. I'll start with this beauty of a film. It stars the one and only Bjork and is based on the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale. The BFI Blu-ray release is pristine and is loaded with extras, including some rare old folk horror shorts. The first pressings also hit the shelves with an informative guide to the film and its restoration.

Gin Bottle Lights

After emptying the contents of the above bottle or raspberry gin :o/, I stuffed it with some old Christmas Tree lights. I have to admit, I rather like the result :o)

The (lego) Pony Riders by Guy N Smith

Sunday, 14 January, 2024

My latest Guy N Smith lego book cover image. I think I may keep the arm and face detail as it makes it more identifiable as lego 🤣 Just need to add the graphics now...

Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin

 Saturday, December 06, 2024

Whilst it already had a place in my personal library with its movie tie-in edition, I hope you agree that I had to add this different edition to my shelves when I saw it appear on Etsy at a steal of a price - Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin.

Lights, Camera, Action

Thursday, December 4, 2024

Picked up these lights for £2 in the B&Q sale so I rammed them inside a glass head. In other news, after a 7-week break, I am writing again 🫡

Spring, I'm assured, is on its way...
