2026....Personal Hopes

And after last night's appraisal of the year that has been, it is now that time of the year to look forwrward to the new year that is to come. I have high hope for 2026, and hooe that by its conclusion I will have undertaken the following x4 family holidays: Japan, Spain for the total eclipse of the sun, London and Norwich.

2025

So, 2025 is finally in its deathroes. I will be glad to see the back of it, tbh. Whilst I met all my major creative goals, life has once again delivered its share of upset.

I published my 9th novel, Familiar, early in the year, at the same time giving my other 8 novels much-needed cover artwork. I also knocked out a couple of ghost stories, the first of which was published in the Guy N Smith fa nzine boo GNS2. The second ghost story will make its publishing debut early in 2026 in GNS3.

Whilst on the subject of Guy N Smith, I was honoured to be asked to provide the written introduction to the reissue of his classic horror, Son of the Werewolf.

Avalon, my Glastonbury zine, finally got its long-awaited sequel, thanks to our finally visiting Glastonbury for its May Day celebrations. And with the reissue of my Gower beaches guide, plus reworked covers of x2 of Explore Gower's earlier guidebooks, my series of Gower Peniinsula are growing into some I am rather proud to have created.

Healthwise, things hsven't been as tickety'boo as I was hoping for. I am still getting painful face swellings, my allergies are getting worse, and my eyelid surgery was an abjct failure, meaning I am back on the waiting list for a reapeat, somewgat more intrusive, operation.

Office work-wise, I have managed to avoid getting a formal attendance warning and have finally started hybrid working, which allows me to work from home at least twice a week, which is a real game changer for me.

Sometimes, life can hinder the opportunity to play as much as you want to, and I still haven't had he opportunity to use my fishing magnets. When I do finally get round to using them, you will find out here.

Travel-wise, I have already mentioned have taken time out to visit Glastonbury again. Unfortunately, we had to postpone our Japan holiday again, and had to swap our Norwich trip, to see my daughter, with a couple of London meet-ups instead.

The tragic news of the year was the loss of our dearest sweet little fudjcat. She had a good innings thoughand will always be treasured in our memories.

So, although it was a fairly up and down kind ofvyear, I am well up for 2025 doing one now and slipping into history.

Please, 2026, be kinder to us next year...

Santa Scene

Iam quite happy with this Lego Santa scene. Merry Christmas, one and all. 🍄🎅🎄🎁

See Gower Logo

And here we have the final logo for my trilogy of new websites. These will be the major thrust of ny creative output for 2026:

See Glastonbury Logo

I am kinda announcing next year's creative focus a little early this year:

See Swansea Logo

Looks like my Swansea webside is finally getting some much needed work: Here is your first look at its new logo:

Something Foxy This Way Comes

Haven't seen this gorgeous fellow for a while. It was nice to see him visiting our garden again today.

Hairy Splot

Lego Arctic Landscape and Huskies

It may be Christmas time, but I am already gathering pieces for next year's Lego horror shoots. Can you guess the movie before I even make the scene:

Friday Night Writish Sesh

Tough haul this workweek, even though I spent it working from home. But I made it to the weekend, and even found time in the even to scribble some pages of another new ghost story. How manis is that I now have on the go?

The Eyes Have It

Miserable start to the day, as I had to walk down to the hospital to see my eye consultant. Looks like I am back on the waiting list for another operation, where they will tighten my lower left eyelid with a diamond cut in the outside corner, have elasticised plastic stiched into the lid, and have its tearduct moved and enlargened. Tick tock tick tock...

Nice walk to the bus station then, where my mood lifted slightly with some beautiful scenes and one of my best seaglass finds:

I really need to shake off these December blues though 😒

Seth's Spooky Ghost Stories

It looks like we are really getting into the Christmas season now as the x2 little beauts were pushed through my letter box today. There short be a 3rd one arriving in a couple of days, which will bring my Seth's Illustrated Ghost Story collection bang up to date.

Stirring the Pyewacket.Broth

Work on my Pywackett tale was fed by a dream that clung to my attention long after awakening from my slumber. The ideas fuelling the project are of an ageing vintage, but the idea of the tale and the character are still very much alive and the creative yeast added to the brew today should hopefully prove a ripe recipe and, one day, prove a fruitfuil endear...

Cruel Crustacean Cutoff Curtailed

I have delayed the deadline for GNS3 content to January 2026. Christmas deadlines are cruel.

Amongst the Crabs Again

I managed to pull myself together this evening, deciding to crack on with my Guy N Smith ghost story for next year's zine:

Monday Blues

Worked from home today. My firstborn returned home with her fiance, and I became sad again as I will have to go in to the office again tomorrow. Here are some pics of happier things - some more of our Christmas decorations:
