Snow! and more...
Wednesday, March 08, 2023
I woke up to snow this morning. 😍
Unfortunately, not!
Still, I managed to snag a couple of snow pics I was happy with for my Explore Swansea site that I was pleased with. 👍
This is a good point to finalise my decision on the future of a couple of my online projects. My Magickal Gardening site WILL CONTINUE, but its access to the general public has now been rescinded. As I first suggested in this earlier post, access to Magickal Gardening will now be offered only to supporters of The Pixie-Led Blog. I have also decided to make Explore-Swansea accessible only to supporters of the Pixie-Led Blog. My Swansea photography site is a MASSIVE catalogue of images of Swansea and is a real treasure-trove for lovers of my home town! How do you become a supporter of my blog? Simples. Just buy me a coffee!
* Supporters buying me x1 coffee will now gain access to Magickal Gardening.
* Supporters buying me x2 coffees will now gain access to both Magickal Gardening and Explore Swansea.
For the time being, Explore-Gower, will remain accessible to the general public...

Curled up with a book and fudjcat

Nearing the end of Death Bell. I am hoping the ending doesn't knock this book of the top spot of my favourite GNS book...

Goodbye MG?
The Magickal Gardening site has now closed its gates. Several factors have led to this decision, including financial and leisure issues. Whilst the old domain name for the gardening blog is now defunct, or at least not connected to my blog, the site still exists at its naked hosting URL. Whilst the Magickal Gardening blog is no longer available to the public, access is available to those who support my work by buying me a coffee. Leave me your email there, and I will grant you personal access to the site. ☺️👨🌾✨🥕
Thank you,
Chris Elphick
Read, write and cwtch the cat day

Well, this is the last day of my two-week break from my day job. But, instead of getting all down in the dumps, I will look back on how I have used this break from the grind and what I have achieved from it.
Since this post, written at the start of my break, my meds seem to be slowly aiding my condition, and I am at last starting to see an improvement in my health. Fingers crossed, Methotrexate is finally the drug to get me back on my feet again...
Reading-wise, I have slowed down a little these past couple of weeks. But the current book I am reading, Guy N Smith's Death Bell, is one of my favourites of his so far. And I want to savour it, especially as I am so far ahead in my reading schedule this year :)
My biggest achievement over my two-week break from the day job is the progress I have made on Cold Comfort. I have now ploughed through most of the second draft of this, my longest novel, and am now a whole three months ahead of schedule. Instead of completing this second draft by the end of June, I now aim to get it completed by the end of March 2023. I will then take a few weeks break from Cold Comfort to work on the second draft of the vampire novel I wrote late last year. I hope to get the second drafts of both of this year's novels completed by the end of June. This will give me a solid six months to complete the third and final drafts of both novels, as well as produce my third Explore Gower guidebook.
So, all things considered, today is not a day to dread the coming of tomorrow and my return to the drudgery of earning a living. Instead, it is a day to celebrate the hard work I have put in these past few weeks to not only keep my creative spark alive, but to turn it into a blazing bonfire!
Time to chill...

Wow! Bargain GNS
Wow. These two GNS books arrived in the post today. Both books are in excellent condition and are unread.
Peeking through the first few pages of each book, I found both were 1st editions. Not only that, but Phobia was a signed copy ☺️
For those book-hunting themselves, give WoB a try. I only spent £3.49 each on these book, especially when the price of Guy N Smith books are spiralling beyond affordability on eBay. These two books. for example, can go for as much as these prices on eBay:
I snagged them for £3.49 each (delivery free) from World of Books. Give 'em a try.

Cold Comfort - Ploughing On
February 16, 2023
As I noted in yesterday's blog entry, I did not find enough time to keep up the writing pace I enjoyed on previous days this week. Still, I managed to accomplish work I'd previously allotted five days to accomplish today, so I am not complaining. :)
